Gastroenterology Fellow seeking a full-time position that offers professional challenges utilizing interpersonal skills, excellent time management and problem-solving skills. Strong preference for outpatient procedures.
· Typical work week involved working 6 days a week for a minimum of 10-12 hours daily, mainly rotating through the general inpatient internal medicine floor, intensive care unit, cardiac critical care unit, overnight shifts on the general medical floor, intensive care unit and the cardiac critical care unit. Furthermore, 1 week rotation through the ambulatory care unit every 5th week.
· Tasks included, but were not limited to: working efficiently to obtain detailed yet focused histories, conducting thorough physical examinations, ordering and interpreting relevant diagnostic laboratory tests and appropriate imaging while being supervised by senior residents, fellows and attending physicians.
· Interacted respectfully and professionally with team members from all specialties, including, but not limited to: Residents, fellows, attending physicians, registered nurses, patient care assistants, telemetry technicians, transport technicians, clerks, operators, and hospital police.
· Performed above average consistently in monthly system-specific exams as well as in the annual in-service exams (Residency In-Training exam)
• As a Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician i have provided surveillance, analysis, synthesis and preliminary interpretation of patients' heart rhythm patterns and physiological parameters while at rest, and/or during exercise and/or in response to medication administration or other impacting procedure
• Provided direct patient care for a variety of patient populations
• My responsibilities included having a working knowledge of various monitoring/testing devices and systems, equipment calibration, identifying and troubleshooting equipment failures, preparing patients/equipment for testing and/or monitoring, assessing for appropriate type of testing/monitoring, providing patient education on procedures, and accurately recording physiological data and preliminary interpretations in multiple reporting systems
• Worked with a multi-disciplinary team, communicating abnormal or critical physiological responses and activating medical emergencies response plans.
