• Ensure proper notification and procedures are followed, depending on jurisdiction
• Study assigned construction project package (plans, job specs, permits, etc.) and review findings with supervisor, technical contracts, inspector II, and/or the project contractor
• Schedule water main shutdowns, locate and operate valves, notify affected customers in advance by letter, perform chlorination samplings, etc.
• Train new inspectors to allow them to familiarize themselves with plan reading, standard specifications, standard details, and Internal Operating Procedures, daily tasks, new office/work equipment, and on-site training.
• Work hours outside of the regularly scheduled work week
• Ensuring work environments are safe for every worker on site (PPE, Hydration, Staying Warm, Cool-off periods)
• Ensure environmental regulations & traffic control
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform well in a team environment
• Efficient in using MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook
