  • Lead, supervise and manage 24 personnel which included 18 multi-purpose handlers, two civilian (GS-12) Master Trainers/Instructors, two Kennel Masters, three Veterinarians and one Veterinarian technician, located in North Carolina and California

  • Served at the Camp Pendleton K9 Platoon from December 2007 to November 2011 and from September 2014 to June 2017 which included training, managing and certifying MWD teams for law enforcement operations as well as deployments to the Middle East
  • During this time, deployed three time - to Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait
  • From November 2011 to September 2014 served on embassy duty as a Detachment Commander
  • Directly responsible for the training, welfare and readiness of assigned handlers and Military Working Dogs (MWD)

  • As a trainer in the Dog Training Section (DTS) Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Tx responsibilities included utilizing behavioral modification, operant and classical conditioning methods for training patrol (tactical) explosive detection dogs
  • Consistently overcame training obstacles and idiosyncrasies of individual canines and ensured they met and exceeded the certification standards in all aspects of the Military Working Dog training manual to include; obedience, patrol (tactical) work, and explosive detection
  • Explosive detection – green dogs were imprinted on explosive odors and trained to search various areas to include barracks rooms, theaters, aircraft, vehicles, luggage and warehouses
  • Patrol (tactical) – green dogs started with drive building exercises, then transitioned into area searches and building searches for man as well as gun fire neutralization
  • Obedience – green dogs were trained in basic obedience (sit, down, heel, stay) on a 6ft leash
  • Canines were also trained to negotiate the obstacle course
  • Utilized various conditioning behavioral theories and practices to effectively train a variety of canines; personal efforts resulted in over 80 dogs certified and accepted into the DoD MWD program by the 341st Training Squadron
