Driven and versatile, I transitioned from entry level position to owner/operator of The Gutter Guys and leading a thriving 30+ team, mastering both mechanical skills and exceptional customer service. Expert in construction and business management, I excel in fostering talent, achieving growth, and maintaining strong professional relationships. My journey reflects a commitment to excellence and a passion for people.
As the owner/operator of The Gutter Guys, I have experience in all aspects of construction, business management, sales, and customer service. I truly appreciated running the business when we were at a smaller scale and I could be hands-on in all aspects without micro-managing. I learned far more from these experiences than I ever could have imagined. For many years I vetted candidates for all positions, hired, trained, and refined skills over time to see many surpass my abilities in their specific positions. I'm very proud of this and in no way take it as a shortfall of my own skills or abilities as my job was to juggle all these positions to a high degree daily. Eventually, we had done so well that we grew from a 6 person operation to over 30. I realized in the last 2 years that I was no longer happy as I was disconnected from small daily operations and instead running a multi-million dollar business from behind a desk and saw my family less and less as the business grew. I'm truly a "people person" and customer service is in my blood. Knowing I wouldn't be happy adding more managerial positions and taking a smaller role in daily operations I chose to sell my business to two employees early in 2021. I stayed through the end of the year to help transition them into the new roles necessary for success and occasionally consulted for them and the other Gutter Guy franchises. We have ongoing relationships both personal and professional.
Prior to this, I worked several jobs in general construction and primarily built CVS Pharmacy's from the ground up for H. Carlson and Sons.
My mechanical abilities are as follows but not limited to;
~Light electrical such as replacement of ceiling fans, light fixtures, outlets, breakers/fuses, running new wiring, etc
~Light plumbing such as replacement of faucets, drain pipes, toilets, hot water heaters, expansion tanks, etc
~Framing, installing/adjusting doors, windows, siding, roofing
~Sheetrock, spackle, and painting to all degrees
~ Floorings such as ceramic tile, hardwood, and vinyl
~Grounds maintenance to all degrees including "tree work" of any level including topping, trimming and dropping whole trees
~Operating and maintaining light and heavy equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, excavators, tractors, ATV/UTV, lifts (both aerial and scissor style), augers, concrete/tile saws, lawn equipment, snow plows, etc
~Light fabrication and welding
