Practicum - Pediatric Oncology (108 Hours)

• Observe and support chemotherapy administration under the supervision of the RN.
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake & output, and report changes to the RN/preceptor.
• Learn to prioritize care for immunocompromised patients by practicing strict infection control measures.
• Participate in patient and family education about treatments, side effects, and infection prevention.

• Emergency Department (36 Hours a Week)

• Center for Neonatal and Pediatric Transitional Care Unit (90 Hours)
• Provided specialized care for premature and medically complex infants and children, monitored vital signs, assisted with feedings, and supported family education and bonding during the transition from intensive care to home.

• Labor and Delivery Unit (90 Hours)
• Assisted in the care of mothers during all stages of labor, supported newborn care, and gained experience with procedures such as fetal monitoring, and postpartum assessments.

• Meyer 3 Psychiatric Unit (90 Hours)
• Provided care for patients with mental health disorders, conducted mental status assessments, administered medications, and supported therapeutic interventions while promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.

• Post-Operative Orthopedic Surgery Unit (90 hours)
• Supported nursing staff by performing routine tasks such as taking vitals, administering medications, and documenting patient information.

• Stroke/Telemedicine Unit (90 Hours)
• Provided care for patients recovering from strokes, monitored cardiac rhythms, assisted with neurological assessments, and supported rehabilitation efforts to promote patient recovery and safety.

• As a server at a restaurant, I provided personalized service by taking orders, delivering food, managing multiple tables, handling transactions, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
