Completed first-semester nursing clinicals under instructor supervision (Stephanie Schultheis, ICU RN). Over the course of the semester, performed hands-on patient care including proper hand hygiene and PPE use, bed linen changes, and maintaining a safe patient environment.
Obtained and documented vital signs, recognized and reported abnormal findings to instructor. Assisted patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, toileting, repositioning, transfers, and ambulation using proper safety techniques.
Performed head-to-toe and focused assessments, assisted with wound cleaning and dressing changes per clinical guidelines, and documented care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR). Actively participated in fall-prevention measures, infection-control practices, and patient safety protocols while demonstrating effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
