Experienced with coordinating volunteer activities and supporting community programs. Utilizes organizational and interpersonal skills to promote effective project execution. Knowledge of building strong community relations and enhancing service delivery with enthusiasm.
As a member of NHS I have been able to volunteer at events for local elementary schools, organize events at my own school, give back to the environment, contribute to awareness walks for MS and cystic fibrosis. Because of NHS and Girl Scouts of USA I will graduate with over one hundred hours of community service.
Through Girl Scouts of the USA, I was given the opportunity to assist with special events and programs that gave back to the community, as demonstrated when I earned my silver award for making fifty sustainable adoption bags for the local animal shelter to help and bring awareness to new pet owners with a small group of other Girl Scouts, or when I earned my bronze award for making over a thousand beads for the organization Beads Of Courage, that gives beads to children being treated with cancer after every treatment with my troop.
I was responsible for helping with the children during summer camp (ages ranged from 3-10). I helped instructors teach the kids how to play ukulele, piano, drums, and vocals as well as help watch the kids during lunch, recess, in addition to playing games with the children before they get picked up. After the kids were picked up I managed the front desk, answering phone calls and keeping track of scheduled lessons.
