Work History
Junior Engineer
Maritime Applied Physics Corporation
01.2024 - Current
Worked in the Controls department. Began work on a project that consisted of using PLCs and the logic within them for actuator control on a cradle. Worked with ladder logic PLC programming to create code that would see an input, such as a change in state from a proximity sensor, and send a command to the actuators to open and close the arms of the waterborne cradle accordingly.
Worked alongside Production for configuration of GARC and Vicar hulls. Configuration consisted of setting up controllers for each boat, loading correct operating system to each onboard computer onboard and using command line, both on Windows and Linux, to set up each hull correctly as needed to be controlled and tracked autonomously.
Worked with techs to diagnose software and hardware problems onboard each hull, such as incorrect wiring, incorrect software loaded onto the boat or onto a component on the boat, and testing voltage on PDMs and AC/DC converters to detect if power is being distributed properly to each component.
Set up laptops with Virtual Machines and corresponding software made by the company for each hull that would track engine data and position real-time for each hull.
Test Engineer
TCOM, LP
05.2022 - 12.2023
Troubleshoot, test and configure sub-assembly components such as power supplies, lightweight enclosures, power distribution centers and enclosures and smaller components such as Digital I/O modules, cables, and Variable Frequency Drives, that are all combined in payloads that go onto tethered aerostats.
Electrical Design Engineer
EN Engineering
08.2020 - 04.2022
Create engineering design packages for customers using Microstation, BlueBeam, EdeCal and various other software.
Meet in field with customer to check electric poles and transformers to decide if they are available for service use by customer.
Work alongside designers to check over design prints.
Test Technician
L3Harris
05.2019 - 08.2020
Assemble, troubleshoot and monitor tests of several small nodes used for radars behind submarines connected through test boards under extreme hot and cold conditions provided by large ovens to verify that they work correctly.
Create defect reports for failed units under test.
The testing stations used bench equipment such as multi meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and voltmeters.
When a node on a test board went bad, the board and/or the node was tested with a multi meter in continuity to test for current flow through the node and test board.
Ventev Engineering Intern
TESSCO Technologies
05.2018 - 08.2018
Stationed in the Ventev MDA department.
Worked with Lab View on several different tests, such as phone voltage and current tests, then incorporated a system to export Lab View data into databases using SQLite Studio.
Created a Printed Circuit Board(PCB) design for a circuit that tested the cables inside of USB cables and lit a warning LED when a cable broke.
Worked on Arduino code that displayed on an LCD screen when a cable inside a cable testing machine broke, which cable broke and when it broke.
