  • Safety: Safety program management and oversight of 835,397 Waste-to-Energy client employee hours worked with a Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) of 1.03 – a favorable rate less than half the industry average. Develop and drive proactive employee engagement programs including near miss and behavior-based safety observation reporting structures.
  • Training: Provide employees and contractors with the necessary knowledge and skills driving toward zero accidents and injuries. Skilled presenter, with the ability to read and reach target audiences at all levels within an organization.
  • Cost Savings – Obtained United States Army Corp of Engineers / State of Maryland Joint Permit Application (USACE JPA) for engineered conveyance to manage overburden storage saving client in excess of 25 million dollars.
  • Legal Research, Cost Recovery: Identified, investigated and proved erroneous application of waste and wastewater utility billing policy. This case was ultimately decided by the Maryland Supreme Court, resulting in $1.5 million dollar refund of overpayments from the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission
  • Client Support: Collaborative resource partnering with operational and business leaders at the local, regional, and senior management levels ensuring alignment with corporate goals at the site, plant, regional, and corporate levels of client organizations.   • Technical Support: Oversight and management of planned and outage projects, providing expertise, direction, leadership, strategic planning, and prioritization to achieve environmental, health, and safety (EHS) performance objectives
  • Audits/ Performance Metrics: Conduct facility program audits and EHS elements to assess and identify KPI gaps and deficiencies. Develop corrective action, long and short-term planning strategies to set targets and objectives to restore site / regional performance.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations using applied root cause analysis (RCA) methods to establish and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce the potential for reoccurrence.
  • Compliance: Subject matter expert and technical resource ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) permits, regulations, training, and reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations regarding hazardous materials and driver hour requirements. Prepare for and lead Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) STAR applications and audits with State and Federal regulatory agencies (OSHA) on compliance matters to minimize impact to the business, prepare local teams for agency inspections and interactions. Partner with client legal teams on OSHA citation responses and formal/informal conferences.
