Senior Capstone Experience (SCE) Project

Salisbury Zoological Park

  • Examined how human visitors at Salisbury Zoo impacted the behavior and welfare of Spider Monkeys and Black-footed Prairie Dogs to further determine how observed behavior influenced a human’s willingness to advocate for conservation of affected species
  • To conduct this research, human visitors were given surveys asking about their own behavior, and about the observed animals’ behavior(s)
  • The Spider Monkeys and Black-footed Prairie Dogs were observed directly, first-hand; and with a video camera to future identify observed behaviors
