Apprentice HVAC
I would show up between 5 am and 8 am, and go with a mechanic or service technician. We did mostly installs. I worked on a lot of split unit jobs. I got to learn to wire them up, and learned basic skills like flaring, joining copper fittings by brazing,, learned how to read manifold gage in at least a basic way. I didn't work with any sheet metal, just mechanical.
- Worked under guidance of experienced professionals to learn trade best practices and techniques.
- Learned proper and safe use and maintenance of power tools, hand tools and safety equipment.
- Developed successful system for tracking project progress.
