I have been working with children since I was 13 as a L.I.T. (Leader in Training) in AWANA. When I was in my early 20s, my wife, Kori (who was my girlfriend at the time), and I led the youth of our small church, which had about 40 members. Some of those youths in which we are still actively involved in their lives 10 to 15 years later. When I was around 25, Pastor Felipe Coffman asked if I would join a youth group he led, which I ended up taking over for a time after he had to step down. That group has turned into the Friday night Bible study that we have hosted in our home for almost five years. Kori and I have faithfully serviced SCBC for almost a decade in the Journey program, which is the high school-aged club for AWANA. And for the last two years, I have helped, taught, and worked with the students in Youth Impact. I understand I will not be the best candidate on paper, but youth and children's ministry cannot be fully calculated on paper. I may not have formal education, but I have been studying the Bible since my childhood. I have earned my citation award, the respect from the people who have taught me, and I know there will be a greater judgment for those who do not teach God's word correctly (Matthew 18:6, Mark 9:42, James 3:1). Thank you for taking the time to read this. To God be the Glory
