- Lead developer of Full Service eLearning content at simpleshow USA, a worldwide company that designs and creates custom eLearning modules and interactive web content for a wide variety of clients.
- Created and maintained a proprietary eLearning authoring tool (similar to Adobe Captivate/Articulate 360) using HTML, SCSS, Typescript and a variety of JavaScript libraries. This tool was the primary way all of our client's custom content was created.
- Improved automation and workflow in our building tools that resulted in a decrease in the number of developers needed - from 4 fulltime and 5 freelancers down to 3 fulltime and 1 freelancer - while simultaneously increasing the volume of client projects we could handle from ~70/year to ~110/year.
- Strongly recommended our company become WCAG 2/ Section 508 compliant and as a result received Professional Development instruction on this topic. Used this new skillset to ensure all of our client's content could now meet AA and AAA compliance depending on their needs, leading to a large increase in sales in states like California and Washington as well as to larger companies needing public-facing content.
- Frequently met with clients to discuss and implement one-of-a-kind custom features and interactivity that adhered to their vision. This was done while meeting the client's often strict launch deadlines and with a company policy of unlimited feedback cycles.
- In cases where clients had their own codebase, existing content from another vendor that they wanted altered, or custom hardware they needed our content adapted to: Responsible for meeting with the client's technical team to learn any unique programming or specs and then creating the content in the required language/format to fit the client's needs. This ability to adapt was a key selling point used by our entire sales staff.
- Improved our localization process, reducing the time from two days per language to a half day per language.
- Worked with leads of other departments in an initiative to identify unnecessary steps in our workflow and feedback loops while also improving client file organization, standardization and reusability. This resulted in a drastic reduction in the number of required project managers, concept writers and illustrators allowing the company to no longer rely on freelancers to fill gaps.
