I participated in a clinical clerkship in Georgetown University Hospital, specifically in the Pediatric In-Patient Ward of the Pediatric Department.
During this time, my role was observation, assistance and learning on how the In-Patient Ward team conduct the ground rounds of the hospitalized patients, attending lectures every Friday, as well as the daily clinical discussions regarding the medical conditions of the hospitalized patients.
I was responsible of evaluation of hospitalized patients at the Pediatric In-Patient Wards. I was also the pediatrician on-call of the emergency department during the evenings.
My responsibilities included and were not limited to conducting thorough examinations, diagnostics, prescribing medications, treating injuries, advising parents on child health, labor and delivery, as well as the outpatient clinic.
