Leads the DC Residential Building Services team, through managing, mentoring, and training staff from early design through consulting, certification, and completion.
Manages both new and existing green building projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic, including residential building programs such as LEED Homes Multifamily Midrise, National Green Building Standard, Enterprise Green Communities, ENERGY STAR, Passive House, and multiple existing building incentive programs.
Guides developers, architects, design teams, and builders through planning, design, construction, testing, verification, and documentation activities to achieve compliance with codes, standards, and programs.
Works with electrification and decarbonization of new and existing buildings, including participation in consulting for BEPS and other programs.
Consults on energy and green code pathways for compliance, including net zero, electrification, and energy efficiency.
Engages utilities with potential pilot programs or alternative compliance pathway proposals including through utility based programs, grid-interactive controls, and load shifting objectives.
Manages projects through multifamily existing building retrofits including Affordable Housing Retrofit Accelerator, LIHTC requirements, and efficiency targets.
Consults as a technical subject matter expert through NREL, ENERGY STAR, EPA, and local codes including embodied carbon.
Works with energy and green codes and standards such as ASHRAE, IECC, ICC 700, ANSI 301/380, ACCA, etc.
Conducts training on building science concepts and topics including HVAC, thermal envelope, air barriers, ventilation strategies, etc.
Maintains person and professional contacts throughout the industry including within green programs, codes and zoning, ENERGY STAR and EPA, NREL, energy modeling software, utilities, HVAC manufacturer reps, etc.
