Karizma is a ceramic artist who specializes in figurative work, primarily focusing on bust, while gradually exploring full-bodied figures. Her past artwork is rooted in a desire to learn more about her culture. This exploration has allowed her to bridge the gap between her African-American identity and the lost African heritage she's learning more about through her artwork.
Currently a junior ceramics major at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), Karizma had the opportunity to present her first solo exhibition during her junior year. This showcased a collection of work reflecting her artistic growth and cultural exploration. As her journey continues, Karizma aims to explore themes of childhood, memory, and nostalgia. These concepts allow her to reflect on her own personal experience while inviting others to connect with their own stories.
