My journey into nursing began at home when my husband, just one year into our marriage, was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease, a rare genetic disorder. Suddenly, I was thrust into the world of healthcare, driven by a deep commitment to learn everything I could to care for him at home. I quickly became skilled in essential nursing tasks such as IV pushes and drips, central lines, PEG tubes, colostomy care, and more—long before I ever stepped into a classroom. In the midst of his illness, I returned to school, and it was this pursuit that kept me grounded during my grief after his passing in 2018. I draw on my experience as both a patient's family member and a nurse to build meaningful relationships, offer support through grief, and provide compassionate, holistic care in my practice. Nursing has become more than just a career for me; it is a true passion, one that I hope to continue to advance and nurture at your facility.
