-Oversees the crew sign-on and sign-off process, responsible for immigration documentation such as passports, seaman’s books, visas, Alien Resident Cards (ARC), Letters of Re-Employment, Letter of Discharge for Marine department.
Ensuring the accurate, secure, and organized storage, retrieval, and maintenance of all Crew members records in compliance with Port regulations and company policies.
-Ensures the efficient clearance of Crew members signing on and off through Customs and Immigration by diplomatically encouraging a productive relationship with the relevant officials.
- Supervises the Crew Relations Specialist in the sign-on and sign-off processes, and ensures Crew members receive all documentation prior to sign off, including Passport, Seaman’s book, airline tickets, medicals, training records and Letter of Discharge.
- Coordinates with the shore-side support group the repatriation process for shipboard employees.
- Supervises the 90-Day US CBP Inspection of all Crew, with the assistance of other ship officers.
- Extract data and generate HR reports before sailing.
- Clear the ship at each Port of entry with Immigration and Custom officials for that country. Prepare Visa applications for crew members transferring to other vessels outside the United States.
- Works with Financial Controller staff in the HR Center in a cooperative, productive and effective manner.
- As part of the HR Division fully supports Crew Activities and events that help increase Crew morale and optimize positive Crew comments of the overall Crew Relations operation.
