Economic Analysis of Brazil
I analyzed monetary and multidimensional poverty trends in Brazil. This involved researching the poverty rate, inflation, history of recession, foreign investment, export industries, nominal gdp, influence of covid-19, unequal economic development among geographical regions, crime rates, infrastructure, wealth inequality, education, complicated tax codes, and inequalities in education and earnings on the basis of ethnicity and sex.
Innovation in Elementary Schools
Utilizing research in cognitive science, mainly the fact that 50% of fluid intelligence is dependent on one's environment, I developed a proposal for a new elementary school curriculum that involved logic and puzzle games. This would serve to improve working memory, fluid intelligence, problem solving communication / collaborative skills.
Reduction in Long Term Explicit and Implicit Bias
According to research in cognitive science, the best way to reduce long term explicit and implicit bias towards "out groups" is to develop healthy relationships with members in the "out groups." Based on this research, I developed a proposal for elementary schools to have community building exercises in the form of team games such as kickball, capture the flag, soccer, and basketball in order to create an environment that might foster friendships between all members of the community.
