I worked for the restaurant Sonny's of NY in Sykesville, MD.
There, I worked as a cashier, busser, and food runner. I learned various skills, such as using both POS and DoorDash systems. I also handled phone calls to communicate orders to the kitchen. This job has provided me with the ability to communicate with both customers and the kitchen, and with various systems.
- Responded promptly to customer inquiries and requests for additional items or services, including resolving customer complaints regarding food quality or service, in a professional manner. Also, communicating effectively with kitchen staff regarding customer requests.
- Maintained a friendly attitude towards customers at all times.
- Operated the cash register efficiently to process payments from customers. Processed payments using the POS system and accepted cash, credit cards, and checks. Adhered to company policies and procedures concerning cash handling practices.
- Maintained a clean work area by wiping down counters, sweeping floors. Cleaning and sanitizing work areas throughout the shift, including countertops, floors, and equipment.
- Delivered food to guests in a timely manner while following safety protocols. Organized food orders and ensured accuracy of items served to customers.
- Greeted and welcomed customers as they arrived at the restaurant.
- Provided assistance with clearing plates from tables after meals were completed. Performed daily side work, such as polishing and maintaining silverware, folding napkins, and restocking condiments.
- Inspected dining room furniture for cleanliness prior to seating guests. Maintained cleanliness of restaurant dining area throughout shift.
