As a School Health Nurse I provide for the total health care needs of more than 400 students. School nursing, a specialized practice of nursing, protects and promotes student health, facilitates optimal development, and advances academic success. School nurses provide care coordination, advocate for quality student-centered care, and collaborate to design systems that allow individuals and communities to develop their full potential. I collaborate with student's family, physician, school team, and community. I manage various school nursing responsibilities such as case management, chronic disease management, disease prevention, health promotion and education, disease surveillance, student screenings, referrals, and follow-ups. In addition I administer medication, treatment of diabetics, asthmatic, seizure disorder and many other chronic health ailments. I coordinate Dental clinics, preventative immunizations for staff, work in coordination with the local Health Department, daily data entry, create health care plans and provide emergency medical care of both students and staff.

As a School Health Nurse I provide for the total health care needs of more than 700 students to include but not limited to, assessment, medication dispensing, treatment of diabetes, asthma, seizure disorder and many other chronic health ailments. I coordinate Dental clinics, preventative immunizations for staff, work in coordination with the local Health Department to control infestations and communicable outbreaks. Daily data entry, create health care plans and provide Emergency medical care of both students and staff.
