- As a Covid-19 Tester, I am placed in a school in Montgomery County (which is subject to change) to test students that are symptomatic and follow procedure to test, fill out paperwork, send home, and instruct parents on what to do next
- As a Case Investigator, I oversee and perform contact tracing on students in MCPS who are tested positive
- I must follow guidelines as to who are considered “close contact” and obtain information from parents and teachers to help school officials decide whether students that are close contact need to quarantine for a full10 days, have a modified quarantine schedule, or no change at all
- I have worked with students ranging from the age of5 years to13 years old in this job in particular
Patient Care Technician (Float Pool)

- As a patient care technician, I provide activities of daily living to patients as well as monitoring their health
- I assist with the maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction of a registered nurse (RN)
- I worked the float position meaning I have touched base with floors containing med-surg, emergency department, psych, and oncology units
- I have experience with electronic medical records when charting for patients on all of these said units with different charting and patient record needs
- I have gained the experience to document detailed reports that I am able to carry onto future jobs and am able to learn quickly with new documentation systems
- Because of the float position, I was even placed as unit clerks on all of these floors for9 months which included answering phones, taking messages of nurses and doctors, giving information to patients and families through the phone and forwarding them to the correct personnel, setting and editing appointments, and answering call lights
- I also am familiarized with all equipment used in a hospital setting that is located in floor supply rooms and patient rooms that I learned during my time at Medstar
- I perform phlebotomy, EKG, and I.V
- Insertions when needed and am certified
- I have my BLS/CPR certification under the American Heart Association and my Certified Nursing Assistant license
- I am working toward my CSPDT license so I can be of more help where it is needed and am open to taking any courses through recommendation that will help me complete and better my job
