· Contracted assignments include:
Ø Weinberg 4CD (Appx 6 Months) – Surgical Oncology Unit.
· Cares for a highly complex surgical oncology population, specializing in head and neck, otolaryngology, and abdominal cancer surgeries, including HIPEC procedures.
· Patient population includes individuals undergoing facial resections with microvascular free flaps, new tracheostomies, new laryngectomies, thyroid and pituitary surgeries, and adenoidectomies.
· Provides post-operative care for patients with new airways or complex surgical interventions, requiring advanced monitoring, wound care, and airway management.
· Focuses on education, preparation for home care, and coordination of post-discharge needs to ensure safe recovery and continuity of care.
· Patients are typically high-acuity, often requiring multi-disciplinary care involving surgery, oncology, respiratory therapy, speech and swallow therapy, nutrition, and specialized nursing interventions.
Ø Nelson 7 (Appx 6 Months) – Pulmonary/Liver Disease
o Oriented to Intermediate Care (IMC) level of care, managing high-acuity patients with complex respiratory and liver failure conditions.
o Cared for patients awaiting lung or liver transplants due to end-stage disease, as well as those with chronic conditions such as cystic fibrosis and interstitial lung disease.
o Managed complex therapies and interventions, including IVIG, plasma exchange (PLEX), and advanced respiratory support, ensuring patient safety and continuity of care.
Ø Zayed 11 West (Appx 6 months) – Thoracic/Urologic Surgery
