· Practices as an expert in the application of the nutrition care process (NCP) and theory.
· Utilizes the NCP to provide person-/population-centered nutrition care to patients while considering other factors affecting nutrition and health status such as culture, ethnicity, gender, health literacy and social determinants of health.
· Performs nutrition assessments and implements nutrition plans of care based on evidence-based practice and patient's goals of care.
· Documents in the medical record using the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' standardized language.
