The Medical Laboratory Technician Clinical Training Program provides students the technical skills and knowledge required to achieve entry-level competencies and perform medical laboratory specialist and medical laboratory technician duties at fixed medical treatment facilities and field environments under the supervision of a qualified laboratory technician/technologist.

• Performed clinical microbiology and molecular diagnostics testing in a high-volume laboratory, including specimen processing, culture plating, organism identification, and PCR testing.
• Conducted molecular testing using Cepheid GeneXpert, BioFire FilmArray, Roche cobas 6800, and Hologic Panther platforms for CMV, HCV, HBV, HPV, Chlamydia trachomatis/Neisseria gonorrhoeae (CT/GC), and vaginitis/vaginosis assays.
• Identified infectious organisms from blood, respiratory, and urine specimens while ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results.
• Served as the section Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with laboratory safety policies, conducting routine safety inspections, and promoting a safe working environment.
• Performed weekly inventory management and ordered laboratory reagents and supplies to maintain uninterrupted workflow and adequate stock levels.
