Work History
Minister
African Methodist Episcopal Church, Mount Pisgah
Columbia
05.2010 - Current
Served as Co-Leader in establishing GriefShare Ministry at Mt. Pisgah AME Church in Columbia, MD. I conducted scheduled sessions with materials, vetted by clinical professionals within the community of faith. The sessions provided coping tools that the attendees could use as they went through the loss of a loved one. Also, the meetings gave participants an opportunity to share their journey with others, which was helpful in the healing process.
Currently, I serve as Minister to Comfort & Care (Sick & Shut-in), and I held the roles of Spiritual Advisor to Bereavement Ministry, and to Dance Ministry.
Regularly visit and minister to the parishioners who are sick and incapacitated at homes, hospitals, nursing and rehabilitation facilities, group home settings, and hospices. This also entails follow-up calls to the ill parishioner and their family members. I have comforted terminal parishioners and their loved ones when they were transitioning from life to death.
Delivered impactful sermons for worship services to engage congregants.
Provided spiritual guidance and counseling to individuals and families in need.
Created Mid-week sermon lesson to facilitate spiritual growth among participants.
Engaged with local organizations to develop partnerships benefiting the community.
Administered communion, baptisms, and other religious rites to uphold traditions.
Visited and prayed with church members to offer pastoral care.
Led and participated in funeral services for church members, honoring their milestones.
I have provided transportation to those who lacked the ability to drive or simply did not have a car. I gave rides to grocery stores, pharmacies, churches, and medical appointments.
I was ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in April 2013.
Minister
African Methodist Church, Mount Olive
Annapolis
02.2008 - 05.2010
A focus of my ministry at Mount Olive AME Church was outreach. I ministered outside the walls of the church by walking in the surrounding community to meet the church's neighbors. I was regularly assigned to preach as a minister of the church at a nearby apartment complex in Annapolis, MD.
I met with interdenominational and interfaith groups in Annapolis to discuss issues and coordinate solutions for problems in the community such as crime among youth.
I continued visitations and spiritual support to sick and incapacitated parishioners
Minister
African Methodist Episcopal Church, Allen Chapel

Received license to preach on March 13, 1995, and was ordained Itinerant Deacon on April 20, 1996, while serving as minister at Allen Chapel AME Church.
I provided communion or the Eucharist to incapacited parishioners. During the visits, I would give sermon highlights, share a prayer, and sing familiar hymns or inspirational songs.
My role as clergy included performing marriages, baptisms, and conducting funerals/memorials.
I served as a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children for the U.S. Court House in Washington, DC
