  • Serves as senior agency official responsible for both domestic and international security, health, travel and safety programs including Continuity of Operations, emergency management and preparedness, and physical and personal security at national and international level for agency personnel.
  • Agency expert advising management officials on matters concerning health, safety, security and emergency preparedness programs for headquarters personnel and staff assigned to and traveling to overseas posts for official business.

  • Classified Information Security - Protecting national security classified information and sensitive information and national security technology systems against unauthorized disclosure and directing training and application of appropriate markings to indicate classification level. Ensuring daily downloading and distribution of classified information regarding MCC partner countries to all Senior Staff as well as making it available to “need to know” Department staff. Overseeing developing and implemental of agency’s Insider Threat Policy and Training Awareness Program in coordination with National Insider Threat Task Force.
  • Communications Security - Protecting secure telecommunications (computers/telephones/faxes), automated information systems (classnet, opennet) and encryption and keying media used to transmit and receive of national security classified information.
  • Credentialing Security - Implementing Federal Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12) photographic identification badge that meets control and security objectives for all MCC employees, contractors, detailees and interns.
  • Emergency Planning & Preparedness - Managing viable and executable crisis management and emergency response continuity plans to facilitate the performance of essential agency functions during any circumstance that may interrupt normal business operations.
  • Operations Security - Protecting critical information and actions to prevent compromise and exploitation by potential adversaries of national security classified information and sensitive information relating to mission capabilities, limitations and intentions.
  • Personnel Security - Processing background investigations for employees (to determine eligibility to be granted security clearances for critical-sensitive and noncritical sensitive positions) as well as contractors and interns (to determine favorably suitability determinations and eligibility for facility access clearances) and adjudicating Reports of Investigation regarding candidates’ fitness and suitability for Federal service.
  • Physical Security – Developing measures (alarms, card readers, CCTV, etc.), policies and procedures to safeguard personnel, prevent unauthorized access to equipment, material and documents and prevent espionage, sabotage and theft.

  • Personnel Security Program Administrator which included supervising and training personnel security specialists to initiate, review and submit Questionnaires for National Security Positions (SF-86) and Questionnaires for Public Trust Positions (SF-85; sole adjudicator for Reports of Investigation; granted security clearances up to TS-SCI and contractor facility access.
  • Agency Technical Representative (ATR) for guard service contract appointed by Federal Protective Service (FPS), acted as COTR with day-to-day monitoring of contract guard performance, including performance evaluation; worked with FPS on investigating and resolving workplace threats, violence and theft.
  • Credentialing Coordinator to establish compliance program, policies and procedures to implement HSPD-12 mandate; directed effort to issue common Federal IDs for 300+ employees, contractors and interns; led effort to became HSPD-12 compliant; and partnered with GSA’s USAccess HSPD-12 program.
